Who is The Weft Wright?
Welcome to my creative corner of the web! My name is Trent, and I’m thrilled to share my passion for fiber arts with you. With 20 years of experience as a professional theatrical designer and educator, I’ve always been immersed in the world of art and craftsmanship.
My journey into the fiber arts began at a young age when my grandmother taught me the fine art of embroidery. This early introduction sparked a lifelong love for textiles. In my late teens, I discovered the world of weaving, and six years ago, I took the plunge and bought my very first loom. What started as a hobby has since blossomed into a true passion.
Today, my tiny fiber studio, in the picturesque mountains of Western North Carolina, is a hub of creativity. Equipped with 4 looms, 3 spinning wheels, 2 knitting machines, and enough yarn to reach to the moon and back, I spend my days weaving, spinning, dyeing, and machine knitting. Each piece I create is a testament to my love for the craft and my dedication to quality.
Beyond creating beautiful handmade garments and furnishings, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and inspiring others. On my YouTube channel, The Weft Wright, I combine my teaching experience with my fiber art expertise to offer tutorials, tips, and a glimpse into the vibrant world of textiles.
Thank you for visiting! Whether you’re here to shop, learn, or simply be inspired, I’m excited to share this journey with you.
